From Italy to San Diego: The Caffè di Talya Story

Gianfranco grew up in Italy, where coffee is woven into everyday life. Mornings started with an espresso at the local bar, and the café was the place where neighbors caught up and the day slowed down for a few minutes.

When he moved to San Diego, that was the thing he missed most. Good espresso was hard to find, and the café culture he grew up with was even harder. So he built it himself.

Caffè di Talya is the result. We pour Caffè Vergnano, bake fresh pastries each morning, and serve Italian pies in the evening. The goal has not changed since day one: give San Diego a real taste of Italy, and a place worth staying a while.
